I Have the Power of Apathy!
Kinetic Kudu, Kernel Beacown, and More!
Ubuntu has made their latest non-LTS release, Kinetic Kudu; The Tor Project releases version 5.5 of Tails, but there's a big caveat to cover; and KDE Plasma keeps fixing bugs with version 5.26.1. The Znver4 optimizations have landed in GCC 13, leading to a discussion on how compile time optimization works. Then there's discussion on the various distros shipping their fixes for the kernel WiFi vulnerability, Beacown. For tips there's the hand "ts", for adding timestamps to lines of output, cpufreqd and cpupower-gui for managing your cpu power and scheduler, and uuid and guidtool for creating and investigating UUIDs. This week has some errata, where our hosts *thought* they knew the answers, and a kindhearted listener set them straight. See the notes at https://bit.ly/3eRG17l and we'll see you next time!
New episodes are recorded live every Saturday in the Club TWiT Discord.
