China's smartphone market appears to be saturated. Shipments in the country fell 4.3% in the first quarter compared with the year-ago quarter. The news comes from a new survey released today by IDC. The firm says the slowdown was caused by the shrinking of the first-time buyers market. Nearly everyone in China who wants a phone already has one. IDC also reported that Apple has the highest market share in China at 15%, followed by China's own Xiaomi and Huawei. Samsung's marketshare has been cut in half, and the company is now the #4 handset seller in China. For the full episode, go to twit.tv/tnt/1256 Bandwidth for TWiT Bits is provided by Cachefly.
