How to Receive Communications

You'll probably want a phone number. We're going to get one from Google Voice. Google Voice gives you access to your calls on the web. You can even set up all kinds of rules for which phone rings at which time.

Google Voice also can send and receive text messages. The downside is that you don't get MMS support and it's US only right now.

Apps for your device:

How do you answer calls?

The Google Voice app doesn't do that. Instead, use Talkatone to make and receive calls.

Alternatively, you can use Skype to make and receive calls. You'll need to get a Skype Online number which is not free, but very useful overall.
