FLOSS Weekly 490
Friendica
A Decentralized Social Network
Friendica is a software to create a distributed social network. It is a communication hub that can not only talk to other Friendica servers, but also natively to servers that are using the Diaspora protocol (Diaspora and Hubzilla) and the OStatus protocol that is used by GNU Social. Hypolite Petovan started contributing in late 2016 and quickly was invited as a core developer on the GitHub repository.
