5 Tips for Using the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X

Jason Howell has 5 great tips for getting the most out of the new Google Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X phones:

  1. Quickly launch the camera by double-pressing the power button.
  2. Enable the notification indicator light.
Go into Settings > Sound & Notification, and turn on "Pulse notification light."
  3. Use your Nexus device to charge another phone.
Connect the phones using a USB-C cable, and you'll see a popup that says "USB for charging." Tap that notification, choose "Power supply" on the phone delivering the charge, and select "Charging" on the phone being charged.
  4. See the battery percentage in the top menu bar.
Pull down the notifications shade, and then tap and hold on the settings button for 5 seconds. When you release, it will take you to the settings with a new category called "System UI Tuner." Then toggle on "Show embedded battery percentage."
  5. Activate Wi-Fi calling.
Go into Settings > Wireless & Networks > More, and then toggle on Wi-Fi calling. This will route calls through your Wi-Fi network when cell coverage is low.
