Tip: Automatically Turn on Your Phone Ringer When Waking Up

Stacey Higginbotham shared a tip on This Week in Google 397 for automatically turning on the notifications on your phone in the morning. It's a very specific If This Then That recipe that relies on your Android phone and a Fitbit or activity tracker. The recipe will turn up your phone ringer sound to 70% (or as loud as you want) after you've recorded your sleep data for the night.

You'll still need to remember to mute your phone at night when you go to bed, but with this recipe, you won't have to remember taking the phone out of silent mode in the morning. Depending on your schedule, this may be a better system than simply setting scheduled times for your phone to mute and unmute. If you don't have a consistent schedule where you wake up at the same time, then this is better because it will only turn the ringer back on after the activity tracker senses that you're awake.
