It's been about a month since I got my hands on the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ tablet, courtesy of the folks at AT&T, who sent me a unit for review. As someone who's reviewed many Samsung devices in the past, I was eager to spend some quality time with Samsung's latest premium Android tablet.

As I've come to expect from Samsung's best tablets, this device is almost as good as it gets. From the sleek, durable design to top-tier performance, Samsung really delivered with the Tab S9+.

The S9+ features aluminum sides and a durable yet impressively thin form factor. It easily slips into my bag, and thanks to the new IP68 water resistance rating, I don't have to worry about it getting damaged if it gets wet. The display is a sharp and colorful widescreen 12.4" AMOLED that looks amazing whether I'm watching movies on a plane or playing games outside in bright sunlight.

Under the hood, the Tab S9+ is a productivity and entertainment powerhouse. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor handled everything I threw at it without slowing down, from gaming to multitasking across many open apps simultaneously. The 10,090 mAh battery cooped with power management features resulted in battery life that lasted throughout most of my recent vacation—charging the device to full took little time, thanks to 45W fast wired charging.

Samsung continues to put a nice polish on its One UI interface. It strikes a balance between offering helpful features while staying out of the way (mostly), allowing me to multitask and finish work seamlessly. The Tab S9+ is an excellent demonstration of the usability of split-screen and multi-window support. I loved having a YouTube video playing on one side of the screen while responding to emails on the other. Add to that the creative boost of having an S PEN included in the box, and the Tab S9+ is suddenly capable of so much more. Artists will enjoy this slate as a capable alternative to the iPad Pro.

Most tablets don't quite compete with the camera quality of today's top smartphones, and that is absolutely the case with the Tab S9+. The dual rear cameras and front-facing camera on the Tab S9+ are reasonable enough for a tablet, but this is clearly one area where the series can improve with future iterations. The photos won't blow you away when zoomed in, but they do the job if you really need to snap a quick picture or document.

Now for the catch: The Tab S9+ costs a whopping $1,149 for the 5G-enabled 256GB model I tested. There's no doubt it's a premium price tag. However, if you're looking for the best Android tablet experience available right now—with powerful performance, an immersive display, and Samsung's trademark design—the Tab S9+ delivers.
