Health Pick: Kardia Mobile EKG

Leo Laporte's pick of the week on MacBreak Weekly 559 is Kardia Mobile EKG. This is a small, portable device from AliveCor that will monitor your heart. All you have to do is put your fingers on the electrodes -- there's no wires, patches, or gels needed. It will take a medical grade EKG in just 30 seconds, and the smartphone will let you know right away if your heart rhythm is normal or if atrial fibrillation is detected. It's FDA approved, and costs $99.

There is a premium service available as well, which will give you personal reports for your doctor, blood pressure tracking, weight and medication tracking, unlimited storage of all heart health data, and a historical view of heart health data. This additional service costs $9.99 per month.
