Rene Ritchie's pick of the week on MacBreak Weekly 543 is the iHome SmartPlug. This is an easy way to get started with home automation, since it just turns any regular outlet into a HomeKit outlet. This means you can also control devices plugged into that outlet remotely as well. You can also create scenes to control multiple devices simultaneously.
In addition to working with Apple's HomeKit and Siri, iHome's SmartPlug works with the Amazon Alexa, SmartThings, Wink, and Nest. SmartPlug is Wi-Fi enabled, so there's no hub required.
