App Pick: Paint.NET

Paul Thurrott's app pick on Windows Weekly 538 is Paint.NET. This is a famous .NET application that's been around for a long time, and it came out of a challenge at Microsoft to see if someone could recreate and improve upon the Paint application that's built into Windows using .NET technologies. The app has evolved into something that is now a Photoshop replacement. It's been free on the web with a suggested donation, but it's now on the Windows Store. It's going to cost $8.99, but for the month of October it's being offered for just $4.99.
