iOS Pick: Blink Shell
Leo Laporte’s app cap on iOS Today 384 is Blink. This is a command line terminal emulator for iOS. This is really for people who have logins to other computers, and it especially useful if you’re a sysadmin. It works on both iPhone and iPad, but it’s harder to type everything out on the phone. It’s ideal for an iPad with a keyboard.
Since the iPad’s keyboard doesn’t have all the keys you would find on a normal keyboard, like the ‘escape’ key, Blink puts those keys on the screen along the bottom. The configuration is all from the command line. It supports Mosh and SSH, has a variety of themes to choose from, and it comes with some very nice fonts. It also saves the keys and logins in iCloud so you only have to enter it once and you’ll have it on every device.
