TWiT to Test Podsights Attribution Service
As the podcast industry evolves, we at TWiT continue to look at ways to balance a need for podcast attribution and listener privacy, something we take very seriously.
Attribution services are part of an increasingly non-negotiable part of an ad-supported network. In other words, we want to continue to deliver our great podcasts at no cost to you while satisfying advertiser needs.
Soon, TWiT will begin testing the attribution service Podsights, as we set our eyes on a 2021 transition away from Chartable. We will start the test with FLOSS Weekly. If that goes according to plan, we will expand the testing to include other shows.

If you are running an ad blocker, you may need to make sure that pdst.fm is not blocked. (It isn’t blocked by major ad blockers, but you may want to double-check yours.)
Attribution lets advertisers know which visits to their site came as a direct result of an ad heard on a TWiT podcast. This is in addition to coupon codes and/or a sponsor’s custom URL. The metrics prove to an advertiser that TWiT provides a good return on their advertising investment.
UPDATE: We plan to expand the test to Security Now in the first week of November.
