Peter Hoddie

For nearly a decade, Peter Hoddie played a central role in
defining, building and promoting Apple’s QuickTime technology. While at
Apple, he was awarded the designation of Distinguished Engineer for that
work. After Apple, In 2000, he founded Generic Media to simplify the
publishing and viewing of digital media by introducing the first
on-demand, real-time media transcoding server. In 2002, Peter co-founded
Kinoma as a startup. Kinoma software was widely deployed by Palm, Sony
and Sling Media. Kinoma was acquired in 2011 by Marvell, a global
semiconductor company. Peter continues to lead the Kinoma team at
Marvell. Peter has contributed to the MPEG-4, JPEG-2000 and SMIL
standards.
