Michael, or "Wools," grew up in Marin and Sonoma Counties, where he lived out his youth as a ranch hand and rodeo cowboy. Those experiences inspire his rural documentary-style vision.
Michael began taking pictures as a little boy when he was given a Kodak Instamatic — and he never stopped. His photography journey took him to the streets of San Francisco, where he captured the grassroots political environment; to his freelance business providing editorial, corporate, and food photography, among other services. He is a member of Field Sonoma, a group of creative professionals showcasing people in the community with a unique niche.
Michael is known for his rich, authentic portraits and lifestyle images, which reflect his passion for visual storytelling. His eye captures and celebrates life in whatever form he finds it.
Michael makes his home in his childhood city of Petaluma with his wife and two sons. He began contributing to the TWiT podcast network in October 2019.
