My name is Alison Langmead. I am an archivist/records and information manager by profession, which means that I help groups of people organize, describe and maintain access to their information, both past and present, active and inactive. I hold a Ph.D. in Art History from Columbia University as well as an MLIS with a concentration in archival studies from UCLA. I also take an interest in the ways that individuals can come to understand the way that information makes an important impact on their personal lives. This site is dedicated to promoting a sustainable approach to information management. That is to say, I truly believe we ought not keep track of every piece of information we ever acquire or produce, but that does not mean we can’t be mindful about the ways in which we guard, collect and maintain the selected pieces of information that serve as reminders of who we are and what we have accomplished.
