I launched and run the nation's largest open source collaborative disaster cleanup platform, Crisis Cleanup. The system has helped volunteers internalize $1.8 billion of losses from 150,000 families after 250 disasters. As an attorney, business owner and programmer, I know how to translate business needs and legal requirements into technology.

I am a nationally recognized expert on preparation and disaster volunteerism, and author of How to Prepare for Everything. I am currently working on my next book, Unmarkets, which is an economic theory of internalizing third-party loss.

As general counsel I negotiated and managed risk on tens of millions of dollars in software licensing contracts. As an attorney I have advised dozens of companies of all sizes on managing legal and business risk, privacy compliance, and improving security.
