Just a quick update about the new shows we're rolling out this month on TWiT:
First the bad news. I am canceling seven shows. I never like canceling a show, but I need to when audience numbers are too low to support them. It’s the part of the media business I like least, but it’s also necessary if TWiT is to continue. Every show I’ve ever worked on was cancelled eventually, so I know how it feels. This month we’ll be saying good-bye to:
Starting in July, you will notice some changes to our network schedule.
Please join Leo Laporte, Tom Merritt, and special guests on Wednesday (June 27th) and Thursday (June 28th) for our live coverage of the 2012 Google I/O Developers Conference.
Please join Tom Merritt, Iyaz Akhtar, Mary Jo Foley, and Alex Gumpel on Wednesday (June 20th) at 9:00AM PDT for our live coverage of Microsoft's Windows Phone Developers Summit.
Notice! – Important changes to our video formats.
Next week we will begin rolling out some new encoding formats and upgrading to HD for our shows.
You should notice improved video quality in both the new SD large files and the HD files. We’ve done this without increasing the file size of the SD large and actually lowering the size of the HD files to make them easier to download and store on your mobile devices.
