Jason Howell and Megan Morrone discuss robots that build hammocks, mop floors, and tattoo. Maria Yablonina, graduate of the University of Stuttgart’s Institute of Computational Design, created two robots that scale the wall in tandem. They are filled to the brim with carbon fiber used to weave a structure into the wall using protruding rods. The Braava Jet has a tank for water and soap, plus replaceable pads that it uses to scrub the floor. Finally, French designers Pierre Emm and Johan da Silveira modified a Makerbot 3D printer, replacing the plastic extruder with a tattoo gun, making it the first robot tattooist.
