Mac Pick: BBEdit 11.6
Andy Ihnatko's pick of the week on MacBreak Weekly 514 is BBEdit 11.6 from Bare Bones Software. Version 11.6 just came out on Tuesday and it has lots of new features for professional developers. Even if you're not a coder, and just need an app for writing, BBEdit is the consummate tool for editing text.
Bare Bones has changed its strategy with BBEdit 11.6. For a long time, Bare Bones Software has offered a free and more simplified text editor called TextWrangler in addition to BBEdit. With the latest version, however, you will get the full version of BBEdit for 30 days. After that 30 day period, the app will still function but many of the sophisticated developer features will become unavailable unless you pay for it.
The full version of BBEdit costs $49.99, while the upgrade costs $29.99.
