Mac Pick: Aura PCIe Flash Storage Upgrades

Leo Laporte's pick of the week on MacBreak Weekly 497 comes from ScooterX in the chatroom. OWC has introduced Aura PCIe flash storage upgrades for mide-2013 or later MacBook Pros and MacBook Airs. The new SSDs have up to eight times the original capacity, available in 480GB and 1TB.

OWC's Aura SSD upgrade kits also come with "Envoy Pro," a USB 3.0 enclosure for your Mac's old 128GB or 256GB SSD. This makes it easy to transfer all of your data from the old SSD to the new one inside your computer at speeds of up to 355MB/s.

The 480GB upgrade with the kit and transfer enclosure is $399, and 1TB is $649. The drive by itself is $347.99 for the 480GB SSD, and $597.99 for 1TB.
