Leo Laporte's pick of the week on MacBreak Weekly 411 is Computable. This app from Karl Traunmueller brings IPython, including all of the ScyPi libraries, to the iPad. If you're a scientist who uses the Python language to analyze data, this has Numpy, SciPy, SymPy, Pandas and Matplotlib built-in. It has an embedded Python 2.7 interpreter as well. You can create, edit, and run IPython notebooks, and Computable has sample notebooks to get you started.
If you're new to programming, Python is a great language to learn. It's used by many businesses and organizations including NASA and Google. You can learn more about the technology that powers Computable at ipython.org and scipy.org. Computable is free to download, with a $9.99 in-app purchase to unlock the full feature set.
