Leo Laporte's app cap on iPad Today 212 is Star Wars: Commander. This is LucasArt's response to the success of the Simpson's Tapped Out and Clash of Clans. This is similar to the other 'tap and conquer' games, except in the Star Wars universe. The game features the well-known Star Wars music, characters, places, and more.
When you first start playing, you'll find yourself on Tatooine and can choose to either fight on the side of the Galactic Empire or the Rebel Alliance. Then you'll build and defend your base, lead battles by deploying armies, travel to multiple planets and complete special missions. The game graphics are impressive, and the voices of the characters actually sound a lot like they do in the movies.
Star Wars Commander is free with optional in-app purchases. You can play by yourself, or you can play with friends.
