Andy Ihnatko's pick of the week on MacBreak Weekly 407 is the Mellow Sous-vide Cooker. Like other Sous-vide cookers, the Mellow slow cooks food sealed in an air tight bag that is submerged in water. This method of cooking takes longer than normal cooking -- up to 72 hours in some cases -- and at a lower, more accurately controlled temperature.
What separates the Mellow Sous-vide from the rest is that it also has a chiller in it, so that it will keep food refridgerated until it's ready to start cooking. You could schedule Mellow to have dinner ready at a particular time, and it will start cooking exactly when it needs to. It also can be controlled from an iPhone with a Mellow Sous-vide companion app. It's available for pre-order now for $100 less than the retail price.
