Bad Dog, No Guinness

Just to set the record straight... from Ricky Gervais's website:

Ricky Gervais and his team were today awarded the Guinness World Record for the most downloaded podcast, gaining an average of 261,670 downloads per episode of 'The Ricky Gervais Show' during its first month.

I love Ricky Gervais, and as far as I'm concerned his hysterical podcast deserves every award in the book, but, I'm sorry, it is definitely not the "most downloaded podcast." I don't know who is, but TWiT 39 was downloaded 289,540 times 1/22 through 1/31, and that is AOL only, not BitTorrent, video, or mirrors. Our average download per episode has been going steadily up. I expect it's well over 300,000 per week now. And I bet we're not even the most downloaded podcast. Thanks to you for your generous support! UPDATE: OK I just heard from Glyn on Ricky's behalf and they had 400,000 downloads last week. Looks like they're pulling ahead. Quite impressive. I cede the lead!
